The influence of physical and social environment in our education

I was a lot inspired by the initial study shown in Deb Roy's talk, The Birth of a Word. Deb provided a link to the actual data [1] that was obtained during the first two years of his son's life.

While the graph is very specific to his family education, I think it provides a great visualization about the influence of the physical and social environment during the child's development. I noticed, when observing the graph, that not many words related to names of food items. So I wonder your input about the many other aspects you find relevant in this graph, for example, would it change much if we consider families of different economic conditions and across other locations?
