The time is NOW for people to stand up and say 'No More Assault Weapons" and not wait for the government to legislate the change.

Change starts when people change, not when governments legislate change. Think back to the days when driving drunk was socially acceptable, no matter who died in the process. Then Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) formed. The rest is history.

The time is 'now o'clock'. We will change our resopnse to violence and stop purchasing violence video games as gifts for our children, and stop patronizing films that promote violence, mayhem and murder. Glorifying the horrific has become the norm.

What happened in Newtown, CT should never happen again.

Remember Mahatma Ghandi's words: "Be the change you want to see in the world". The time is now o'clock!

Dec 21 2012: So,we all agree, the death of children is tragic...that a boy went under the radar, and used a rifle to express his problems....in a way that no one wanted,or thought possible...He must have been very damaged to do such a a fintie act..I say this with no sarcasm,or flippancy...Mothers,and father should be worried that kids could feel so hopeless..and change history so tragically...Now we see damage, and children having private nightmares acting out in large horrible ways changing things in ways we cant understand...Everyone has their views about what pushed him to see this as his resolution...I was in the army...I enjoyed machine guns, and rifles, they are fun and have a definite purpose..I like video games, and am amazed at the affection people have for them, and my boyfriend loves violent movies...and yet my first loyalty is to those who are with in my care ,loyalty to children, not to tradition ,and I would graciously try anything for a while,to see if there are imperfections in the system, because children are worth, less rifle practice ,and I could have fruit battling instead of manslaughter games, because my authority that I I AM MY BROTHERS KEEPER IS no a slogan but my promise to justice... I can adapt,I will compromise in order to keep Americans safe and I respect women, who are essential to life and when they are scared or confused I am not sarcastic or antagonistic because life is sacred, and I do not seek to be self righteous..but my heart is seeking harmony with the group...this is so serious please speak as if your God was listening to you,and how you resolve the death of your own child
