For every one plastic flower made, 5 real flowers are unable to grow.

For every one plastic flower made, 5 real flowers are unable to grow.

No explanation needed. Just a discussion about the values of humanity.

Please, let's talk about values. I appreciate plastic, but let's talk about values.

Closing Statement from Thomas Anderson

We need less plastic stuff. Thank you.

Nov 25 2012: You are DARN right!

I had some reflections about plastic during my recent visit at a graveyard. What makes people choose plastic flowers/plastic christmas trees? What makes them also lit a battery light instead of a real fire?

Economic factors do play a role, no doubt, but I think there is something more to it. People want these symbols to be everlasting. They are affraid of transcendency and old age.

It is great you brought this subject up, Thomas. Something good may come out of it. My comments are fresh, I need to rethink it once more to get to the root of the cause!

Nov 26 2012: It might just as well be unimaginative plastic factories but in my mind the fault is not on the producer but the consumer. After all, if there was no demand for plastic flowers, there would be no factories producing them.

I am not 100% sure of this, as some producers do create demand for their products (see tv and its stupid programmes) but usually it is already inside the people. The entrepreneur simply uncovers this need.

Nov 27 2012: Good points! Who is responsible, corporations, government, or the individual?

How do I keep myself from buying that beautiful, plastic flower that will last forever?

If someone told me I could make 10 million dollars selling plastic flowers, would I?

If government told me I couldn't make plastic flowers anymore, would I be mad?

The value of 1 plastic flower = - (5 real flowers).
