What is your Political position, Your Religious Position and..
I'm conducting a study out of my own personal interest to see if there really is a general consensus among TED viewers/users, also for entertainment purposes that all TED viewers can see for themselves within this section.
So for that reason, I have 3 simple questions
(With additional sections if you wish to explain to the rest of TED why you hold the position you have).
Feel free to be as descriptive and/or original and/or Combinative with your answers as you see fit.
Thankyou.
Q1. How would you personally describe your political position?
(eg/ Left leaning Indendent, Grass roots Libertarian..)
Q1b. What is the Central reason for holding this position?
Q2. How would you personally describe your Position on Religion?
(eg/ Devout Catholic, Militant Atheist, Buddhist..)
Q2b. What is the central reason for why you hold this position?
Q3. What would you consider to be the best Economic Position for your Country?
(eg/ Capitalist, Socialist, Anarchist..)
Q3b. Why do you feel that this Position (or combination) is the most successful to your country?

Q2: Liberal Protestant Christian
Q3: Regulated Capitalism. It best promotes growth and experimentation.

Q2. No religion. I detest the willingness of creationists to believe in a magical being to ridiculous extremes, while denying with unreasonable skepticism any science that contradicts a belief they would not have if they applied less than 1% of that same skepticism.
Q3. Capitalism with a mix of social well-being to ensure some basic needs. Without basic needs societies breed anger and crime and all kinds of crap that we better avoid.

2) Agnostic very very agnostic
3) A free market that is regulated by representatives elected by the people. Many countries think they have this but very few (none?) actually do.

Welcome to the libertarian party, Peter.

If you look at the conversations on any of these subjects, you will see that there is no consensus on any of these issues here. The diversity of perspectives is, I think, a strength rather than a weakness of the community and distinguishes it from the many online "tribes" that accept only one view from their participants.
Have you looked at recent conversations at all to begin to address your question?

Q2: I do not hold a particular religious position - I support all religions that help people, and I have found valuable learning in every religion. So far, each has had something important to teach me.
Q3: I think the best economic position for my country (America) has yet to be invented. We currently have government by the corporation, for the corporation, and that's not working out so well.
