I was raised to believe that Jesus was coming back and when he did, he and his dad were going to destroy all this.
Telling someone to go to the Bible is telling them to join the warring, violent faction.
Yeah, that's a good way to find peace.
Get rid of the reasons for war, of any kind.
Too simple. Get rid of the reasons????? Why, that will never work.
How could getting rid of the reasons and causes of any kind of war, stop war and bring peace?

I don't have the answer to you question, neither I believe it is achievable, because of many reasons - please note that I am not pessimistic to this matter, I am just approaching to this with realistic and critical mind set.
Watch this two talks I share:

now I read William Ury's and Marshall Rosenberg's books, I actually studied them, because just like you I am concerned about us - as human beings.

I believe you would agree if I say that if we keep doing what we have always done we will keep getting what we have always got.
a few weeks ago, UN General-Secretary Koffi Annan was guest at The Daily Show and when Jon Stewart asked "How is the world, sir", Annan said "Messy" now It is not me who said this.
now if what we did has created this messy world, do you think it is working?

I find interesting that the elbow that Pinker talks about occurred at the same time that the scientific method started being accepted? And free trade?
