Nov 3 2012: Hi Pedro, I appreciate it is a great topic. Students are actually young learning mindsets who need to learn and understand the knowledge (anything which exist in the nature, has +ves and -ves values, properties and qualities) plus how it works and how it can be utilized for growth, construction, and development, that is what I called is the "Knowledge".

For designing the minds, we have to think differently or diversely to explore the potential discoveries and innovations, and to create a frame work of mind designing structure, will need to reset our vision to develop process of education and evaluating the results of that education.

Let me know If I can help, I will cooperate and do what I can.

    All the best. Zack

    Nov 4 2012: http://www.ted.com/talks/gever_tulley_s_tinkering_school_in_action.html

I think Gever's talk about the tinker school is one of the most powerful ideas on TED. While not a talk entirely focused on design I think it strikes the central theme of your conversation and hopefully inspires something for your project.

Nov 2 2012: Jeff Chapin at TedxChange April in Berlin is one. He spoke about human centered design.

There is also one by a young guy who, with a team of people, draws up plans for simple versions of farm equipment that can be used to launch a farm. I will look for it. The words "in a box" were, I think, part of the title.

But if you go to the talks page and check the box for talks about design you will find many about design that helps people. It will be obvious from the titles which they are. http://www.ted.com/talks?lang=en&event=&duration=&sort=newest&tag=26

Nov 7 2012: Training of trainers-continuous process. Bring inventors together- start Exchange programmes- see young generations will catch-up much faster than you imagine. societal structure will follow tune-in.
  • Nov 5 2012: I can't really bring up any specific Ted talks about design but I WOULD love to advocate for design of housing for handicapped individuals. These plans, in my belief should include handicapped friendly and accessible EMERGENCY housing plans. Housing design specifically for the para or quadriplegic would be very beneficial. Low income but practical housing design for the low income, disabled person or family to have safe, cheap housing that matches their needs. These are areas of design that I find extremely limited. In your design process, get folks that live in wheel chairs to be a part of the design process. I promise that they will know things that need to be addressed that a non-chair bound individual will NEVER think of. It comes from living in a chair for a while not by a bunch of students trying to guess whether they've actually covered all the bases. I'd be happy to volunteer as I really have nothing else to do at all these days and boredom is driving me nuts. I'm smart, educated and willing. When do we start?
