With the rising cost of electricity and the problem of obesity, gyms are popular more than ever. A network of energy can be stored and converted into electricity.

    Mar 29 2011: I have long thought that children's parks, gyms and maybe everyone dancing at clubs is creating lots of energy that could be directed somewhere useful.

    We could solve the energy crisis AND the obesity one at the same time. All make your own! No tv unless you cycle to make the energy... etc. :)

    This idea has so many fun ideas to play with.

    Also love Debra's idea of taking it out of gyms...

    Mar 23 2011: Hi Rod! It sounds like an interesting idea but I guess I would rather see all those people take all that energy and all those manhours and turn them into help for their neighbours. Can you imagine if all those gym rats combined their fitness regimes into physical help like cutting lawns, building fences, working for Habitat for Humanity or housework for the aged? Wow! Fitness and a better community!
