Radio frequency chips on student IDs
John Jay High School in San Antonio, Texas (USA) requires students to wear IDs around their necks during school. Embeded in the ID is a radio frequency tracker that can locate the student anywhere on the campus.
The school is concerned about safety and also has a high truency rate.
Most schools are funded on seat time. Truency costs the district money I believe that this is most likely a move to stop the money loss and can include safety and posable law suits against the school. It appears to be a win win for the school.
How would you feel if they tracked your child during school hours only on school property. For high school .... for college.
During an emergency it could be used to locate and identify which are valuable tools for law enforcement and emergency personnel.
