It has long been known that croudsourcing gives pretty reliable information. I think it goes back to the man who had people at a country fair estimate a cow's weight. In every instance, the crowd was almost spot-on, even though estimates varied widely. That this method of further quantifying answers has yielded 25% more accuracy is very exciting.
