Who told the first lie in the world? What was it?
Fantastic and romantic as telling a lie is in the field of art, it is often much less welcome in reality. Sometime, we might well justify ourselves in telling lies to others. But the more we practice our skill of telling lies, the more the demarcation line between harmful lies and harmless ones blurs.

Well, "telling" a lie means language was involved, so my guess would be that the first lie went something like this..."ugh" uttered by someone named something like "ugh".

It was probably a single cell life form.

Monkeys have been know to act deceitfully in order to protect their food from alpha monkeys. Deception is a survival tool, so my guess is that we started deceiving others with our actions before we had the language to actually lie. And we would have also learned to do this as a way to outsmart the animals we were hunting.
