Should Canada keep pennies or not

Alot of people in Canada (especially Rob Ford) are thinking about not using pennies and just not allowing people to use them in everyday life. They say they are a "waste"
Personally, I'm a coin collector- I have ALOT of different coins. I like the penny, but if they went away, I'd have another million rare coins.
So, what do YOU think?
Should they go or should they stay?
