WHat is human life and what is the purpose of it.

The question of what is the purpose of life has been around for many years and no one has had the correct answer to this question.

Is our purpose in life to survive and reproduce like darwin thought many years ago. Or is it something larger than life that humans cannot comprehend.

So my final question is what is the purpose of your life and why continue living it.

However, with development of an advanced conscious comes an awareness of the capacity to direct the energy associated with life towards something that transcends the biological purpose. The cumulative effect of this energy has advanced human knowledge and permitted mankind to evolve. This consciousness coupled with knowledge of the different areas in which human knowledge can be advanced leads to choices for individuals to decide if they are to have a higher purpose, and if so, what that should be. Then, given the right combination of knowledge, opportunity, luck, and life energy focus, they may do something that they consider purposeful. The journey towards accomplishing this endeavor, whatever it is might be considered a higher purpose. For some this might be one lifelong pursuit. A single life long pursuit has the most potential for making the biggest changes, but rarely are people this focused. There is also the need to survive to permit you to carry out this purpose, so your time must be balanced. Many more people break up the life long pursuit into a series of smaller goals that collectively form a life long body of work, also giving a life purpose.

The decision to continue living life is a physical affirmation that you believe life is worth living. Your reasons maybe the life brings you pleasure or happiness; perhaps your existence brings pleasure or happiness to another, or they need your help to survive; perhaps you feel you are on a life long quest, or a series of smaller efforts that might lead to the betterment of mankind in some small way; perhaps you are just curious about what tomorrow will bring. Perhaps you feel strongly about a cause and wish to work towards success; Perhaps you would just like to protect the rights of others to be able to find their own purpose. There are many reasons to continue living life and it seems to be what nature has programmed us to do.

    Oct 4 2012: I think:
    (1) The purpose of human life has to be “keeping human DNA alive”.
    (2) My life purpose has to be to keep my DNA alive instinctively.
    (3) I need symbiosis with people in the world to keep my DNA alive.

Sep 27 2012: On the first day, God created the dog and said, "Sit all day by the door of
your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will
give you a life span of twenty years."

The dog said, "That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years
and I'll give you back the other ten?"

And God saw it was good.

On the second day, God created the monkey and said, "Entertain people, do
tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life
    span."

The monkey said, "Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time
to perform. How about I give you back ten like the dog did?"

And God, again saw it was good.

On the third day, God created the cow and said, "You must go into the field
with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give
milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span
    of sixty years."

The cow said, "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty
years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?"

And God agreed it was good.

On the fourth day, God created humans and said, "Eat, sleep, play, marry
and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years."

But the human said, "Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my
twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back and the
ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?"

"Okay," said God, "You asked for it."

So that is why for our first twenty years, we eat, sleep, play and enjoy
ourselves. For the next forty years, we slave in the sun to support our
family. For the next ten years, we do monkey tricks to entertain the
grandchildren. And for the last ten years, we sit on the front porch and
    bark at everyone.

Life has now been explained to you.
  • Sep 12 2012: The purpose of human life is - creativity.
Creativity is that art through which the real is revealed by unmasking the unreal - both for the individual as well as for humanity so as to enhance our moral consciousness that leads to moral action. Human beings are moral agents who through their actions are the test of reality - the results of which are transcendental, which means that they reflect in Eternity.
" The final purpose of art is to intensify, even, if necessary, to exacerbate, the moral consciousness of people"
    .......Norman Mailer
  • Sep 7 2012: Awareness, consciousness and knowledge, are all one.....all one thing.
We are an organism of that. We have knowledge of all things.
Life is experiencing everything we once knew (were),
but never had to go through.

Sep 7 2012: The purpose of human life is to be exploited by the anointed ones.

    Oh that and to survive.
  • Sep 6 2012: There are two important days in life:

the first day is the day you were born
the second day is the day you find out why.

now for many people the second day may come earlier than for the others.
but eventually the second day will come, either we will find it out or live will present to us.

Steve Jobs said: ""f you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right."
I think if we live each day as it was our last we may make every day our second day.

In General: in different stages of life we make different purpose for ourselves and we keep changing it.
it is an ongoing process. I have realised that almost each 5 years we live in different state of mind with a different view to the world and life itself. I am not a scientist, it is just a mere idea after studying human neuro and mental development system.

Sep 6 2012: Darwin wrote about his personal theory of the development of life, he never wrote about the purpose of life, which is to know God and enjoy him forever. You did not ask to become a living person. That decision was made before you existed. Why not leave the decision about the ending of your life to the same Cause that started it? Spend your life seeking to know the Cause of your life and then to enjoying Him.
  • Sep 6 2012: I think our purpose is multiple. The basic purpose, as any other life, is to survive and reproduce.

Any other purpose we might have is a big question. For me, the higher purpose is to enjoy life, friends, families and also help to make the world a better place.

Finally the ultimate purpose of the mankind, I believe, is to discover what is the Universe about and perhaps become God like.

However, it is also possible we don't have any special purpose in the big scheme of things, like virus, we have a certain role to play. But I hope that is not the case =)

    Cheers

    Sep 6 2012: Hi Jack.
Difficult to take any dude who has to curse all the time seriously (as in the link).
We are God's children. The purpose of this life is to love Him, love others, & to learn to be like Him.

Sep 6 2012: The purpose of life is to live a life of purpose.
To love God, to love life, to love humanity and care for the environment. To be passionate about our jobs/career; and to know that the permanence of bliss that we long for would not be found here on earth.

Sep 6 2012: My purpose is to know myself. As the separation that we see around us is an illusion, and that we also exist as a single, self-aware energy field. As I behave, knowledge is gained by the living energy field. When I die, my focus shifts from "here" to my more complete self.

I love quantum physics and am excited about research into "mind". The idea of a mechanical universe has been largely debunked - though not as universally acclaimed as Big Bang Theory today. But when I was in school, Big Bang Theory wasn't the accepted theory. I'm convinced that we'll get there.

We do create our own realities.
  • Sep 6 2012: I don't know, and have no firm beliefs. But through personal experiences and the experiences of family members, it appears to me that we are more than just flesh, blood and bone. I think there is another life after this life.

My fear is that the other life is our main life, when we do our main work, and this life here on Earth is our vacation time.
