Creating Social Awareness at an Exponential Rate?

As the title suggests, how does one and is it even possible to create social awareness at an exponential rate? Another way to frame the question could be, how does one reach and raise the awareness level of the general public in the shortest amount of time.

    Sep 14 2012: One way would be to start conversations and engagements on the social network. You must create a following/fan of your ideas first. Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin provides just these platforms.
