Aug 9 2012: Dear Zhikai Zhu!
I want to answer your question and be encouraging.
I have found in my own life that the challenges get bigger and bigger but that I am more and more able to meet them squarely and with resiliance. I do not think life is more restful or relaxing because we love more and we care for more as time progresses. We love better too, I hope.
Thus I feel life is more demanding not less but in the midst of that we are always at the reins. You can choose challenge at some stages and rest at others. Sometimes it is not in your control and at others it is more so. If you are, like many here which I suspect you are, your life will probably not be more relaxing but it will be very interesting for you.
And that is your choice to view it as a good or a bad thing. I am viewing mine as really GOOD and exciting. I might even manage to get to China which has been a life long goal.

Aug 9 2012: We have the potential to be more relaxed thru greater knowledge an increased understanding of what makes us do what we do. If we continue to work hard at school, university, work and getting ahead in our lives in a traditional manner then i believe the answer is no.

On the other hand if we change our approach to lives and focus on what makes us happy then fundamentally we can achieve a more relaxed life. The battle is staying focused on achieving what we need to be happy and relaxed more than focusing on the things that we think will make us happy such as material goods and a headlong charge to achieve more in a competitive world.

Aug 9 2012: As I have said in some of my earlier posts, scientific advancement, and new gadgets will not make the world a better place.
Only humans can make the human community better or worse. But its the same humanity of the past that is in the present, and it will be humanity in the future. I dont think we would relax in the future. I think the present trend of waiting for some future happening or some event in order to be happy, will continue.
