Why can we not have cheap electricity?

If we can use wind power to separate oxygen and hydrogen from water why can this not be a sustainable energy for the planet???

    in short: your proposal is based on three pillars, and all of them are dysfunctional beyond repair.

      Aug 8 2012: That was a really good answer, but why? Electric decomposition of water is not efficient at the moment, but what if we carried out a little bit more time in finding a more efficient way to separate the oxygen and hydrogen. Why is hydrogen not a good storage medium?
