Should we really focus on what we need not what we like to know more about?
I had this discussion with a friend of mine few days ago. He was thinking that we have to focus on what we need, what we will use and stop learning or focusing on other things that we like to know just for fun. He said that he had an experiment which made him think that way.
Well, what I think about this is we can focus on many things to learn or to read about and I can see a lot of people who had reached their goals by being philosopher, scientist, poet, actor... etc in the same time. Generally I've seen a lot of these cases and I think it is possible to have a lot of various knowledge just if we were serious about learning.
What do you think? and which way do you choose to live with? other ways? tell us about it.

Exploration is always fun and at times necessary also. In order to realize we have to explorer both inwardly and outwardly. Its funny but it seems many people have started to become afraid of what they might find or know and how the new knowledge might change their own perspective and even the way they live. They would rather stick to knowing what they think is within their control. The reason to this seems to be inability to differentiate between knowledge and consciousness. We can know a great deal but we can be at peace if only we are conscious. We shouldn't build an ego over our accomplishments. If we can do this we can think and do anything and retain our integrity.

In our fast changing world, it is almost impossible to predict what you will need to know tomorrow.
Many people will agree that for you to maximize your contribution to society, you should enjoy what you are doing.
When it comes to education, you might as well follow your desires and your curiosity. Knowledge almost never goes to waste.

And ideally, what you want should in the end be what others need.
