Fashion Luxury personalization

It's my final thesisi and the concept is very simple: give to the custumers what they want( in luxury fashion industry)
. Nowadays there is personalization in the major of sectors as automobile, clothes( no fashion), food.
The idea is to create a new project in which a customer who enters in a Prada shop, besides the experience that is important, can choose everything about his cloth, color and something of the model.
This concept, naturally follow by a premium price, could bring a better service and for sure a better experience to the customer and, obviusly, more trust and satisfaction.
I would like to know what is your opinion about this concept.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks

Jul 20 2012: I think the advent of 3D printers will greatly enhance personal choice, allowing even one-off customizations. The software abstracts the whole physical process, allowing any number of stock or ad hoc models or variations to be viewed or experimented with. The end result can be fully assessed before ever hitting the Print button. The materials being used as "ink" are and will be ever-expanding. These printers will eventually become mainstream; if you need a thing that the materials can support, you'll find the design online, download it, tweak it (maybe) and print. Prior to such mainstream use there'll certainly be any number of market niches for these as-yet quite expensive printers.

Jul 18 2012: Hi and thanks everybody for yours suggestions.
I am going to respond in order:
    1) Feysayo: you are right, but i think there are a lot of customer who would like to have this kind of personalization. For sure it's not a big target, may be the people who can affort this kind of cost, but in the luxury fashion it,s very important to feel yourself unique, and this strategy can help to make them feel like this.

    2) Karen: you are right too, but I was speaking in a different way. I know that couture it's a kind of luxury, may be the higher, but I was speakink about the classical store that you can find in the major street of the big cities ( prada, lv, gucci, miu miu...). The idea is to offer the opportunity to a customer to enter in a store, choosing between different kind of clothes and put on them a symbol, a different color or whatelse, just to give them the opportunity to be unique and differen from the other people.

    3) Alsarub: the visualization could be a good idea, but it could bring again to the standardization..

I hope to receive again your comments..

    I get up you..

Jul 18 2012: it could be good idea if you bring visualization for selection to people hands, than visiting different designers
  • Jul 17 2012: This already exists it's called couture shopping. You can visit exclusive designers and ask them to make a garment for you with your choice of fabric and amend/blend existing styles. The items is literally made to measure and the results are fabulous. Vivienne Westwood and other designers offer this exclusive service.
  • Jul 17 2012: It is a good idea. But some customers do not know themselves as you think they do; some are undecided; and some just follow the trends blindly.

In the end, you may have to decide for some who do not know precisely what they want.
