Jul 11 2012: The answer to the question is yes. All it takes is serendipity and a little luck. So many failures have spurred successes. Think of the post-it note. The adhesive that makes a post-it stick to objects temporarily was considered a failure by it's creator as they were aiming to create a strong glue.

Instead, they created a weak glue. Total abject failure. However, by luck its potential was spotted and now those little multi-coloured sheets of paper dominate office desks across the globe.

Failure is only a chance to learn and improve. Often, if it can be looked at from a new perspective, a useful idea/product etc.

I have often taken what appears to be a failure and re-engineered it into something useful, you just need to take a holistic view and open your imagination to the possibilities.
