Battery life issue: reading device can read data from a dead phone, or the core of the data must be always alive by a special battery

David Birch proposes an idea of using phone for personal identification without revealing real name. The issue is the battery life of the phone. If the phone goes dead, it's unable to identify yourself, or even buy a phone charger...

Solution: The reading device must be able to read data from a dead phone. Or the core of the data must be always alive by a special battery (say a few years span live).

Jun 18 2012: It depends on the type of memory cell being used. some are volatile and need to be kept alive with electricity and some are non volatile and will preserve the data without the need for electricity. SSD s are non volatile type of memory where RAM modules are volatile.
