The Universe is it falling, raising, floating, tumbling or Static ?

To know If earth is moving, we can refer to other cosmic entities eg. we can refer to Sun and know yes Earth is moving around it, and Sun itself is moving roughly around the center of Milky Way , which in turn is also moving, but what all of these combined together are moving ? eg. falling down or raising up since all of them move at the same pace how can we measure what will be the reference point ? relative to each other the galaxies might be moving away, but how we can know all of these are falling together or raising up or tumbling in some eccentric motion ?

@MK: we have been using Infinity to explain away numbers which humans in our present evolutionary continuum cannot comprehend, a little over 200 years ago we did not know the speed of light and the fastest thing which humans know at that time has been the sound if not cheetah, I see we will very shortly encroach into the space of Infinity and start defining it or improve the boundary of known numbers so that infinity can be further refined eg. until 18th Century we did not know the speed of light and now we have an approx number to it, likewise I expect humans will define and be able to accurately measure the speed beyond light. the question will be what can travel faster than light..I understand there is a debate in scientific community on this issue, but for a lay man the answer would be "Consciousnesses" which can also be loosely described by the word "thought". I think and hence I am.

@Stewart Gault : Thanks for answer the question, your answer leads to another question if we are expand what is i that the universe is expanding ? i.e when the distance between the dots increases where it is increasing to ? what is existing there before we were expanding ? emptiness is an easy answer that hits out mind, but why only emptiness are we pushing something away ? if yes what is it , if no then why what it existing before universe started to expand. I believe we are using Big Bang Theory to explain it to our limited understanding power, it was easy to comprehend we have a staring point and like a balloon we are expanding.. but expanding into what ? and why should we expand and when will the expansion stop (will it ever were to stop ?)

    Jun 17 2012: It is space respiration. Nothing is falling, but as you say there is relative motion. A space body, such as Earth, moves relative to another body. This motion relativity is absolute in all the Cosmos, except at the Center of all, where it is quiet--at infinity. Infinity is timeless; no motion means no time. Our planetary perspective cannot see timelessness. It may be frustrating to a great thinker to see possibilities, but not see first hand what is real.

    We only see a small portion and our perspective is not from an overview position to see all simultaneously.

      Jun 17 2012: Another thing to remember is that there is no up or down in the universe. Also when we observe the distant galaxies they are moving away from us which makes us seem like the center of the universe but this same phenomena would be observed on every galaxy in the cosmos. A way to demonstrate this is simple, draw a grid of 9 dots 3x3. Then draw a similar grid on a different piece of paper still 9 dots and 3x3 but make the distance between all the dots larger. Then place the second piece of paper on top of the first one and match any one of the dots up with its corresponding dot. It will then appear that all the other dots have moved away from it. But the same effect happens for every dot.
