Putting technology in your home that you wouldn't think of putting.
Do little things get in your way? Let's say a weight scale in your bathroom. Ever wish it wasn't there? What if you had the same size tile as your weight scale in your bathroom, imagine a piece of tile actually being your weight scale, only activated when stepped on with both feet, to any eye it looks like a regular tile, but with the use of technology it's not just a tile. The scale is... Well let's just say out of the way.

A couple of considerations:
1. Unique tiles will probably require zero balancing.
2. Tiles will need to be idiot-proof.
3. Tiles will need to be removable to replace batteries or be hooked into a power source.
4. Tiles will need to be waterproofed, which will conflict with #2 and 3.
5. You will probably need to have a readout, which will probably require wiring.
6. On the plus side the readout could be the power source to the scale
7. Recommend that you explore the potential for Damn Small Linux, which might save you some programming headaches and the need to avoid hardware programming. You would need to do a lot of piezoelectric testing and then figure out how to zero balance the scale with new tiles.
Good luck and I hope this helps!
