Time cover story "Mom Enough", Did you stop at the cover then develop your opinion?

Human instinct goes further than our conscious minds. With the amount of bad choices out in the world, the internet, the evening news and television programing, is it scaring the American mother? The instinctive mother wants to protect their child. Is conventional rearing showing a high enough success rate? Attachment parenting, I believe, is maternal instincts trying to keep their children safe. Are these mothers an indication of the direction of the American culture?

May 21 2012: No I didn't. Lack of a bonded relationship to an adult in the formative years whether mother, father or grandparent etc, is one of common denominators of most career criminals. Can attachment parenting be overdone? Probably. Is the result more injurious than incomplete bonding? I highly doubt it.
  • May 15 2012: I don't know will it make scared american mothers,I don't know too what's actually going in my country Indonesia, but one think that I know my mom not scared about that.It doesn't mean she doesn't know that there's scared thinks arround her doughter but she knew and believe with their children because she've prepared us with teached us how to think and know what do and don't,when you talk about conventional rearing I'm not sure what's the conventional rearing is?I mean like what it's?But I know the instinct of mother come with a reason.

May 17 2012: Nurul, Thank you for your reply.
Conventional rearing would be, allowing external stimulus teach the child instead of the parent. In America, most parenting is confined to the week-end. Both parents work and daycare, television, electronic games.... you name it. Everything but the parent is influencing the child. A few parents are home-schooling their children, not vaccinating and trying to eat organic food. There is a real perception that the world that they are told is safe, is not.
