Whether it comes today, tomorrow or we endure to suffer additional ages, an ethical 'world constitution' is de facto.

Could ethics be the same unimaginable grace to be drawn from our current desperation as was Buddha drawn from India’s teaming poor; as was Jesus Christ, Moses and Mohammad drawn from their regions dire circumstances? If so, what would best make ethics workable but a world consensus or some sort of “world constitution”?

May 17 2012: An ethical code seems to potentially carry a lot of cultural baggage with it, with corresponding risk of disagreement and conflict. I think we need to emphasise empathy rather than ethics. Have a look at Jeremy Rifkins TED on the empathic civilisation. I'm exploring the practicalities of such a civilisaation on my blog, looking at themes in TED talks that are pointing towards progress in this direction.
