Reality competition or shows on Television, for children / kids, helpful or harmful ?

i mean when you see such competition, you first feel that wow...thats gr8 it provides good platform for kid at such an early age. But it also puts extreme pressure on them, pressure to fill parent, friends or people expectations at such an early age. pressure to win/perform well.
