ALWAYS LEAVE OFFICE ON TIME !! Do you agree with these or not ??

" ALWAYS LEAVE OFFICE ON TIME"

1) work is never ending process, you can never finish work.
2) Interest of client is not more important than your family.
3) if you fail in life your boss or client will not be the person to offer a helping hand but your family or friends will do.
4) Life does not mean coming to office, going home and sleeping There is more to a life. you need a time to socialize, entertainment, exercise and relaxation. Dont make your life meaningless.
5) A person who sits in office till late is not a hardworking person, but he/she is a fool who doesn't know how to finish work in simulated time. Beside he is a loser in life who doesn't have personal or social life.
6) you did not study hard and struggle in life to be a machine and live a meaning less life.
7) if your boss forces you to work late then forward this to him too. he will try to make his life meaningless too.

Are you agree with all these points ??

i am not agree with 5). I feel this approach bit of misleading.......!!

May 1 2012: For some people work is a joy. So to leave "On Time" ,every time is a non starter.

May 1 2012: Hi Shivang, here are some points I disagree with:
    1) work is never ending process, you can never finish work.
Maybe not, but you can finish TASKS. This is why we sometimes stay later, to finish tasks, either because they are due the next day, but also because "finishing" something gives a sense of satisfaction and closure, hence frees the mind. I'd rather leave 20min later but having finished what I'd started so I can go home and feel free in my head.
    4) Life does not mean coming to office, going home and sleeping There is more to a life. you need a time to socialize, entertainment, exercise and relaxation. Dont make your life meaningless.
True also. This is why most countries limit the legal amount of time you are supposed to work. in France it's 35, in others it's 40, etc. Of course a lot of people work more than that, but it is up to each and everyone to appreciate how much "free" time they need. You may work a 65h a week, if you know that behind you can work a normal 40h week and go home on time every day.
    5) A person who sits in office till late is not a hardworking person, but he/she is a fool who doesn't know how to finish work in simulated time. Beside he is a loser in life who doesn't have personal or social life.
Not having a personal or social life does not make you a loser. Depending on your age/ imperatives of life, you can be far from your family, friends, not married yet, widowed, etc. Also some people are lucky enough to work with their passion, hence to people like that, working late is actually not a problem, since they're having fun. You may be working for the greater good, for the community, making a difference, doing something positive, or supporting your family, or simply working hard by moral standard. There are many reasons that can justify sitting in an office till late, and all of the above are, in my opinion, traits of a hardworking person.

    Cheers!

May 13 2012: I'm not much on staying late but I am a supporter of coming in early. I come in two hours early and get as much done in that two hours as the whole rest of the day. Meeting are the biggest waste of time in industry. I have a full eight hours of work to do and have four hours of meetings (mostly non-productive). Managing people who "have rights" and show up one minute before time, take many breaks, long lunches, abuse computer rights, and leave on the dot is a punishment that befalls many managers. There are many reasons to come early or stay late. The final call is how you are precieved by the person in charge. If you are not a team player and contributing to the corporate cause you may soon be in disfavor. If it is made clear to you the importance of completing the project today I would say that the boss has ask for your help .... decision time for you. Your career may not depend on it but his support may. All the best. Bob

Apr 25 2012: Employee To Lead: Lead, can i go now ? (before 2 hour earlier than office leaving time)
Lead To Employee: have you finished all your assigned work for today ?
    Employee To Lead: Yes.
Lead To Employee: Then you can go.
Management To Lead: Why you allowed him(employee) to go before time ??
Lead To Management: But he has finished all his assigned work for today.
Management To Lead: Then you should assigned him more & more work so that he can never leave before time.

    This is a real incidence.

Apr 25 2012: i do completely agree with no 5!!!
when u work late nights it doesn't convey the message 'your hard working'.its just that your wasting your time from getting engaged in other activities!!
so work in office till office hours and later spend the remaining time in rejuvenating yourself!!

Apr 26 2012: when you work late nights it doesn't always mean you are wasting your time or you are engaged in other activities, and you are not able to finish your work in simulated time or you are trying to impress your boss.

In fact during extra hours we learn about upcoming technologies, concepts.

You won't always get training, sometimes you have to be self learner.
Google search and internet is always there to help us.

Even some companies motivates you to spend time in your projects, to come up with your ideas.

i believe - work for your enthusiasm, curiosity, knowledge rather than just working for the company.

      So i don't agree with (5).

Apr 27 2012: I actually think you accidentally stumbled on a major cultural problem we have in modern society here... People like you, see people who are a bit lonely and bored in their personal life, as kiss asses, and losers... because they want to get some extra work done. Meanwhile, because you feel that way, you treat those people badly. This makes them not want to spend time with you either...

They then spend more time at work. We're all losers sometimes. We all go through a tough break up, or quit smoking, or drinking, and want a place to escape sometimes... and occasionally, we all find work. It's nice to feel like "ya, people aren't getting along with me, I'm single, things aren't going well... but at least i'm being really productive and making a bit more money".

The problem is, that when you get in that pattern, if people react, by treating you like a loser... that pattern repeats itself. It's self fulfilling. Rather than assuming, that these people don't enjoy sociallizing, or are relentlessly self promoting, it would be healthier to assume they're lonely, and want you to ask them to join you, even if they turn you down, over and over. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

All that said by the way... If people are working overtime, for no pay, at a job they don't like, they're crazy, ass kissing, losers : p

Apr 25 2012: Hi I don't agree with number 7, we have our own purpose though for staying late for work. whatever that is, for sure it is for our benefit-could be we would like to impress our boss for a promotion, we don't have friends to go out with, etc. I believe that people are intelligent and most of the things that they are always for their own benefit, what people says are actually different from what they do.
