What did your grandparents teach you that you would like to pass on?

Did your grandma or grandpa ever tell you something that changed your perception of life entirely? Or did they teach you anything that others may find particularly useful? If so, share it here.

May 23 2012: My grandmother taught me that if the children wait for some adult to take care of their needs they might never have those needss met. She showed me that no matter how small I was or am I can care for someone and that way every one gets more of their needs met.
Interestingly, recently whle in a rehab hospital I really started to improve when I started caring for others and when i realized that their stories were far more compelling than my own.
