Is there any weight to dichloroacetate (DCA) actually curing cancers?

I've read an article posted by the University of Alberta and a bunch of other postings that said dichloroacetate kills cancer cells and doesn't harm normal ones. It would be great to hear from anyone knowledgeable in this field to see if there's any weight to these claims.
